The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:
- Concept development
- General design of ships and offshore objects
- Ship and offshore structural design
- Hydro-mechanics and -dynamics
- Maritime engineering and machinery systems
- Production processes of all types of ships and other objects intended for marine use
- Production technology and material science
- Shipping science, economics, and all directly related subjects
- Ship operations
- Offshore and ocean engineering in relation to the marine environment
- Marine safety
- Efficiency, lifecycle, and environment
- Ice-related aspects for ships and offshore objects.
The contents of the papers may be of a fundamental or of an applied scientific nature and must be of the highest novelty and rigor.

Abstract: In this experimental research the effect of type of screw blade, type of stern arrangement, power absorption, draft and number of blades has been investigated for a single screw tanker with a block coefficient of 0.77. The dynamic thrust, torque and bending moments, excited by the propeller in the shaft have been analysed.

Abstract: To classify in order of creep resistance the cast-irons used by manufacturers of marine diesel engines, “quick sorting” creep and stress-relaxation testing equipment was developed. The tests conducted on two similar plain irons are given with specific strain and stress-relaxation curves.

Abstract: The analytical calculation of ship bending moments in regular head seas by the linear strip method developed by Korvin-Kroukovsky, applied earlier to the T2-tanker, is now extended to three other hulls differing significantly in shape and operating at a variety of encounter frequencies. A comparison is made of the calculated results with published model test data and with new, more refined, retests. Indications are that trends of longitudinal dynamic bending moment with speed as well as relative magnitudes may be accurately predicted for a fairly wide range of ship forms. Thus the linear theory may be of practical use to …the designer. It is recommended that work continue on reducing the remaining discrepancies between theory and experiment, with emphasis placed on experimental aspects: verification of the hydrodynamic coefficients and the basic theoretical assuptions, as well as refinements in experimental measurements of internal forces and moments on models in waves.
