The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:

Abstract: A review is given of the cavitation observation techniques as used in the NSMB Depressurized Towing Tank. Special attention is paid to those observation and recording techniques which are suitable for studying the time-dependent behaviour of propeller cavitation. The paper also includes the description of a method, based on stereo photogrammetry, to determine the topology of the cavity on a propeller blade.

Abstract: Diagrams for estimating the power required for the propulsion of merchant ships have been constructed. The diagrams give the power as a function of block coefficient, displacement, length displacement ratio and velocity.

Abstract: Experiments have been carried out on a model of a Tempest, a light displacement fin keel yacht, to measure the effects of heel angle on the hydrodynamic forces produced by the hull. The measurements showed that a positive heel does not significantly affect the hydrodynamic forces, except at high speeds, although the overall performance of the yacht could be expected to be changed because of the reduction in sail forces.
