The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:

Abstract: Three models of the Sixty series Parent Form were tested in the Delft Towing Tank in order to determine bending moments in waves. The models were made of fibre glass polyester laminates and strains were measured by means of resistance strain gauges in S sections of each model. The block coefficients of the models were C B = 0.60 , 0.70 and 0.80 resp. Runs were made in regular head seas with wave height varying from 2 r / L = 1 / 48 to 2 r / L = 1 / …30 and in waves having a length of λ / L = 0.75 , 1.00 and 1.25 resp. After a short description of previous work in this field the test set up is discussed and test data of all three models are given. A discussion of the results is followed by a comparison with conventional calculations. A report on the motions of these models in longitudinal waves was published by the Netherlands’ Research Centre TNO for Shipbuilding and Navigation in February 1960, as Report No. 35 S. Abstract: For practical application, the problem of mathematical ship surface has been subdivided into two portions: 1. To approximate a given hull form mathematically by a surface equation; and 2. to modify a ship surface equation to obtain the desired changes in hull characteristics from one design to another. For the case of a single-screw, flat-bottom, merchant ship hull form, a procedure of obtaining a surface equation to fair and to interpolate a given table of offsets has been developed. This equation will give not only the waterlines and stations but also the end profile. The numerical computation …of such a procedure has been programmed into a high-speed electronic computer. From a given table of offsets, any number of waterlines and stations may be computed. The second portion of this work, that is, the use of the surface equation for design purpose, will be dealt with in the future.
