Abstract: The problem of determining the relation between the geometrical form of a propeller blade and its pressure distribution is reduced to a two dimensional integral equation. This has been done by extending the existing lifting surface theory for airplane wings to rotating helicoidal surfaces. The essential tool is the acceleration potential.
