A convenient method for estimating wave resistance, and its variation with small changes of hull shape, for a wide range of ship types

Abstract: A method of calculating ship wave resistance is discussed. It is applicable to a wide variety of hull forms, and uses as computer input a simple table of hull geometry. It ranks groups of similar hull forms quite well in order of merit of resistance, and can also predict far-field waves.
