The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:
- Concept development
- General design of ships and offshore objects
- Ship and offshore structural design
- Hydro-mechanics and -dynamics
- Maritime engineering and machinery systems
- Production processes of all types of ships and other objects intended for marine use
- Production technology and material science
- Shipping science, economics, and all directly related subjects
- Ship operations
- Offshore and ocean engineering in relation to the marine environment
- Marine safety
- Efficiency, lifecycle, and environment
- Ice-related aspects for ships and offshore objects.
The contents of the papers may be of a fundamental or of an applied scientific nature and must be of the highest novelty and rigor.

Abstract: In this paper results are given of a study of how the type and extent of cavitation on screw propellers, working in wake flows, are influenced by different values of propeller geometry and propeller-operation parameters. The method developed by the author for the theoretical prediction of cavitation is employed to calculate the extent of cavitation on face and back of the blades of a systematic series of propellers. This propeller series is derived by varying the main geometry parameters around a centre – or reference – propeller. To determine the dependence of the extent of cavitation on different types of …non-uniform velocity fields, the cavitation characteristics of the reference propeller are also calculated for a systematic series of wake field parameters. The results of these calculations indicate that the cavitation performance of a propeller can be significantly affected by changing values of geometry and operational parameters for a given wake field. Abstract: Symmetric bodily motions and distortions are calculated for a flexible 250,000 dwt loaded tanker. Modal contributions to the bending moment and the shearing force are found and fluid actions are determined for points along the hull.
