The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:

Abstract: The development of facilities and experiment techniques at the Netherlands Ship Model Basin takes place along well-defined lines, which are described in the paper. The set-up and working methods of this institute are discussed. An idea about investments and turnover is given. The existing facilities, as deep water tank, cavitation tunnels, shallow water tank, seakeeping tank and computer centre are described as well as the high speed tank and the wave-current tank under construction. A brief review of the main experiment techniques is given.

Abstract: This report gives a review of recent research activities at the Netherlands Ship Model Basin (N.S.M.B.). The aim of this paper is to give the naval architect in a nutshell an overall impression of the progress made during the last few years. The main research items described are: Systematic test series on various propeller types, propeller excited vibratory forces, cavitation, ships’ in waves and the application of electronic computers in naval architecture.
