Abstract: In the fast moving space of technology, everything and everyone is on the Internet accessing the world. The creation of large networks and data centers required for managing and analyzing data will increase in the future, so traditional networking technologies and skills will not be enough to solve the future complications arising in the networking industry. The present networks are more static and rigid where else they need to be more dynamic and flexible. Software Defined Networking (SDN) pledges to solve these issues and change the status quo of the industry. The key ideas behind Software Defined Networking are the …separation of control and data plane, centralization of network policies and programmability of the networks. Software Defined Networking also claims to solve the perplexing network management issues with some related technologies. This paper provides an insight into this new paradigm. In the inception, we introduce Software Defined Networking and what exactly led to SDN. The fundamental difference between SDN and traditional networking is discussed next. Then, we discuss the different definitions of SDN proposed by different communities covering every aspect of this new paradigm namely: standardization efforts, history, architectural framework with three planes of networking, northbound and southbound interfaces, SDN controllers, and network applications. We also take a look at the ongoing research work especially from the eye of industry giants like Microsoft, Google, AT&T, etc. specifically in the field of deployment and interoperability among different carrier vendors and cloud service providers. Abstract: The data networks are basically designed with the aim of maximum throughput and fair resource allocation by managing available resources. A transport layer plays an important role in throughput and fairness with the help of congestion control algorithms (variants). This survey targets mainly congestion issues in high-speed data networks to improve efficiency at connection or flow level. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is a dominating transport layer protocol in the existing network because of its reliable service and deployment in most of the routers. A cause of congestion may be different in wired and wireless network and needs to be handled separately. Packet …delay, packet loss and time out (RTO) are not caused by congestion in case of wireless network. This has been taken into account in our consideration. To overcome the dominance of TCP, Google proposed UDP based solution to handle congestion control and reliable service with minimum latency and control overhead. In the literature several methods are proposed to classify transport layer Protocols. In this survey congestion control proposals are classified based on situation handled by the algorithm such as pure congestion, link loss, packet reordering, path optimization etc. and at the end congestion control at flow level has been addressed. Abstract: RFID system has become one of the most useful tools for the management of the library. Using electromagnetic coupling, an RFID tag can get power supply by a reader and communicate with it for data exchange. Because the RFID system enables non-contact communication, various services and applications including the management of a library catalogue are possible. However, because the system is affected easily by neighboring environment, the communication performance is low. In this paper, by using 13.56 MHz RFID system, we evaluate the resonance frequency of RFID tag and the communication distance between the reader and the target tag when some …tags becoming as interference sources come close to each other, and show that the adjacent tags near the target tag do not only reduce the performance of RFID system but also expand the communication distance. Abstract: The regional activation is an important issue for regional areas. In order to resolve this issue, we propose a live video streaming service for regional activation with the network virtualization technology. In our proposed service, a live video of each tourist spot is delivered to tourists and local residents though a dedicated virtual network. By watching the live video, it is expected to increase the interest of the tourists and the local residents for the tourist spot and they may visit the tourist spot. We suppose that the dedicated virtual networks are readied over a substrate network where existing services …have already been performed. Therefore, we propose two topology designs for virtual networks so as to keep the performance of the existing services. One of the two topology designs embeds the dedicated virtual networks by solving an optimization problem based on network robustness of the substrate network, and the other embeds the dedicated virtual networks by solving an optimization problem based on the amount of resources in the virtual networks. We investigate the performance of our proposed topology designs with simulation. From numerical examples, we show that our proposed topology designs can effectively embed multiple virtual networks regardless of the number of tourist spots and the position of tourist spots, and we also show that our proposed live video streaming service is effective for the regional activation. Abstract: Geographic routing protocols in wireless sensor networks require providing location information of sinks to source nodes. Most studies have only focused on two-dimensional (2D) sensing field, but the real-world applications of sensor networks are in a three-dimensional (3D) environment. This paper presents a new scheme based on residual design principles for 3D networks. In this scheme, sink location announcement (SLA) and sink location query (SLQ) packets are forwarded along two blocks. The node located at the intersection of the two blocks sends the sink position to the source. In the proposed method, SLA and SLQ messages constructed using residual design …blocks. For this purpose, the mapping from residual design to sink location service have been proposed. In order to analyze proposed algorithm’s performance, a series of simulations have been conducted using the NS-2 network simulator. Abstract: Cloud computing is a computing paradigm that provides a set of scalable resources on demand. Mobile clients/users and Internet of Things (IoT) are using cloud resources for their applications. However, it also is a target of cyber-attacks and creates risks for data privacy and protection. Identity management (IdM) has emerged as an important issue for reducing complexity and improving the user experience when accessing services. In addition, nowadays networks and/or security administrators added SAML to authentication services. These service options are available for different uses including a cloud subscriber. In this work, the SAML representation of existing identity management frameworks …and its suitability are emphasized. We introduced a new representation of SAML that makes it lightweight, easier to use and easier to parse. This representation is demonstrated using JSON. In this new SAML representation, we enhanced the performance by marshaling the SAML by 28.99%. In this paper, we will go into these challenges to introduce a new representation for the identity and access management by using a markup language. Our results show that the proposed representation is suitable for small processing power devices for faster generation, parsing, and communication. Show more
