Abstract: Authors made a single-point suspended electromagnetic suspension (EMS) system. This EMS system was applied to the carrier of a transport system. The pitching motion of the carrier converges faster than our physical expectation when the carrier is accelerated or decelerated. The eddy current loss in the iron plate and iron cores due to pitching motion was calculated by a 3D magnetic field analysis software. The calculation result and the experimental one made it clear that such swing convergence is caused by eddy current loss.
