Abstract: When an ultrathin and flexible steel plate is to be levitated, levitation control becomes difficult because the ultrathin steel plate undergoes increased flexure. We have proposed the levitation of an ultrathin steel plate that is bent to an extent that does not induce plastic deformation. In this study to elucidate the levitation stability under disturbance, a random disturbance was input into the levitation system and bending levitation experiments were carried out using an ultrathin steel plate with a thickness of 0.19 mm.
