Abstract: This paper presents the design and analysis of a slotless tubular linear actuator for the ecopedal system of a vehicle. To achieve high fuel efficiency in a vehicle, the electric actuator produces a counter force to the vehicle's pedal when pressed. The actuator requires a high level of performance, such as a high force density and low detent force. In this study, the design of the slotless tubular linear actuator was optimized to satisfy these requirements. The finite element method was used to analyze the actuator's electromagnetic properties, and the viability of the design result was verified experimentally.
