Abstract: This paper presents results of magnetic characteristic analysis of a three-phase generator utilizing grain-oriented silicon steel sheets. In the analysis, the finite element method taking account of the two-dimensional magnetic properties is used to make clear rotational iron loss distributions. In this paper, the knowledge obtained in the numerical simulations by means of the integration-type dynamic E&S modeling is reported. Also, the measurement results of a prototype generator designed with the magnetic characteristic analysis are shown.
