Abstract: We study mechanical-to-electrical power conversion in a piezoelectric ceramic shell mechanically forced into thickness-shear vibrations. A theoretical analysis is performed. The efficiency of energy conversion, the power density of the device and their dependence on various physical and geometric parameters are examined. The structure may be used as an electric power source for wireless devices.
