Abstract: A new two-dimensional model for electromagnetic field analysis is proposed to evaluate the current distributions in high critical temperature superconducting filament. The model is based on the results calculated by exact three-dimensional analysis. By using the new model, quench propagation is evaluated, which shows more robustness against the quench propagation.
