Abstract: This article attempts to demonstrate, by using Indian examples, how workable solutions to certain societal problems emerge on their own without any deliberate attempt on the part of those involved. Issues arising in the process of reaching durable but often uneasy equilibrium are discussed and their relevance to human systems management is highlighted.
