The aim of the International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics is to contribute to intersciences coupling applied electromagnetics, mechanics and materials. Abstract: This paper describes a development of a polymer sensor using a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) film. The sensor has a basic structure that an SPE film is sandwiched between thin carbon films, and conductive tapes are attached on each carbon film. The SPE film has a good flexibility and it is one of the most promising electroactive polymers (EAP) with capability to be used as an actuator and a sensor in air. Abstract: This paper investigates vibration control of plate through Electro-Magnetic Constrained Layer Damping (EMCLD) which consists of electromagnet layer, permanent magnet layer and viscoelastic damping layer. The equivalent current assumption is adopted to model the magnetic control force produced by EMCLD. The governing equations of the plate system are obtained using Hamilton's Principle. Abstract: This paper describes the position control of a dual-stage actuator with piezoelectric actuator using self-sensing actuation. The dual-stage servo system consists of a coarse actuator and a fine actuator. A DC servo motor is used as the coarse actuator, and a piezoelectric actuator provides fine control. The position control of the dual-stage actuator using the dual feedback method and self-sensing is presented. Experimental results show the validity of the proposed control system

Abstract: By analyzing the driving moment of the hydraulic support hand-control directional valve, this paper presents an electro-hydraulic control method for the directional valve with a magneto-rheological (MR) valve base. Firstly, the theoretical values of the control moment on the feed oil loop and return oil loop of the directional valve are calculated based on the operating principle of the valve and the stress analysis of the control mechanism.
