Abstract: This paper proposes a tabu based algorithm to find the Pareto solutions of multiobjective optimizations of electromagnetic devices. An intensification phase by using the evolution algorithm is introduced to ensure the power and efficiency of the proposed method to find the Pareto optimal; and the ranking selecting approach, together with the new neighborhood generation scheme, is proposed to guarantee the diversity of the algorithm, i.e., to have the ability of uniformly sampling the Pareto front. Two …numerical examples are reported to demonstrate the abilities of the proposed algorithm for both obtaining and uniformly sampling the Pareto optimal front of the multiobjective design problems. Abstract: Theoretic means using space harmonic method for Linear Induction Motor(LIM) analysis are suggested. The various reluctances usually approximated by adopting the current sheet are investigated thoroughly. Moreover, end-effect, the distinctive feature of LIM, is explained clearly by the proposed method.

Abstract: This paper is presented for suggesting the analytic methodology, Space Harmonic Method, for slotless Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM) implying the real physical aspect of structure. Especially, the details of the end-effect, a kind of fringing effect resulted from the moving magnet, can be investigated effectively by adopting the proposed method. Furthermore, a distinctive feature of EMF distribution closely concerned with end-effect will be overviewed theoretically.

Abstract: Levitation force between a highly magnetized superconducting bulk magnet (SBM) and a permanent magnet (PM) was numerically calculated considering non-linear J-E relation of a SBM and demagnetization of a PM. The variation of the levitation force was found according to operating temperatures, maximum trapped flux densities of a SBM, and gap distances between a SBM and a PM. Saturation of the levitation force was found. The results of this research could be applied to achieve an …optimal design of a real levitation system using SBMs and PMs. Show more
