The aim of the International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics is to contribute to intersciences coupling applied electromagnetics, mechanics and materials. The journal also intends to stimulate the further development of current technology in industry. The main subjects covered by the journal are:

Abstract: The maximum likelihood estimation (M.L.E.) for spatially-varying parameters in stochastic parabolic systems is studied. The main result is to show the consistency property of the M.L.E. for unknown parameters by using the method of sieves, i.e., first the admissible class of unknown parameters is projected into a finite-dimensional space and next the convergence of the derived finite-dimensional M.L.E. to the infinite-dimensional M.L.E. is justified under some conditions. Finally numerical examples are presented.

Abstract: The magnetic properties and frequency spectra were studied in magnetic composites with the MnZn powder filler in polymer matrix. The frequency response of permeability, power loss and reactive power per frequency components were measured and compared with the computed data. Abstract: Magnetic properties have been investigated for a diagnosis tool of iron-based material of A533B, SUS304 in an applied stress range up to 640 MPa, by using a leakage magnetic flux sensor of GaAs Hall element, a magnetic noise pickup coil and by observing X-ray diffraction. The magnetic Barkhausen jumps were observed at an optimum field sweeping condition of 140kA/ms at which 2-D fractal dimension was found at 1.6\pm 0.3 . In this condition, averaged magnetic …fields for discontinuous magnetizations were evaluated as a monotonic increasing parameter with increasing residual stresses, insensitively to the geometrical configuration between the sensing pick-up coil and the yoke in a wide residual stress range between 0.1 and 8%. stresses in the L\"uders band were found tilted around 35 degrees. Abstract: Angular correlation positron annihilation spectroscopy (AC PAS) has been used for the investigation of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) specimens prepared for the ``Extended surveillance specimen program'' in the 3rd and 4th units of NPP Jaslovsk\'e Bohunice (Slovakia). PAS spectra showed that the changes associated with the effects of neutron irradiation can be well detected. The samples from RPV base material (15Kh2MFA) and weld (Sv 10KhMFT) were measured by angular correlation positron annihilation spectrometer before …and after irradiation. Samples have been irradiated in VVER-440 reactor (units 3 and 4 in Bohunice) by neutron fluence from 7.8\times 10^{23} m^{-2} up to 2.5\times 10^{24} m^{-2} .
