Abstract: This paper deals with the acoustic noise emitted by AC variable speed drives. It proposes an original method to reduce the noise of magnetic origin using carriers of different frequencies to control the PWM of the inverter. The method is based on an analytical model which makes it possible to determine with accuracy the parameters of the carriers. The method is applied and validated with a 15 kW induction machine.
