Abstract: Active vibration control engine mounts are installed in automobiles to reduce vibration and improve ride quality. Previous control methods could be only applied when the phase difference is between -π/2 and π/2. In this paper, a new method that can be used at any phase difference, and that uses step delays so that pre-modelling of the device becomes unnecessary, is proposed. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through experimental results.
Keywords: Active vibration control engine mounts, least means square adaptive control, phase compensation
