Abstract: The structure of maglev flywheel battery is designed and the linear electromagnetic force is analyzed in his paper to study the beat phenomenon. Taylor expands the electromagnetic force to analyze the linearization and to build dynamic vibration model. To analyze the beat phenomenon of the maglev flywheel battery system, an accurate analytical model including controller effects and unbalance force effects is proposed. The general dynamic stiffness is defined and the unbalance response is analyzed in the model. Both the free vibration and the forced vibration are analyzed according to the model, and therefore the beat vibration is discovered. The influences and weakening of the beat vibration are also discussed through adjusting the control currents and the inherent frequency. The simulation results and experimental results demonstrate the validity of the analysis. The accurate analytical model can provide simulation platform for the AMB system vibration compensation research.
