Abstract: This paper outlines challenges and requirements for developing tools and services supporting automated generation, management, evolution, and execution of Data Management Plans (DMPs) by reviewing Research Data Management (RDM) processes in the light of using the method of Knowledge-based and Process-oriented Innovation Management (German: Wissenbasiertes Prozessorientiertes Innovations management, WPIM) to represent and Collaborative Production Process Planning (CAPP) to structure them. The reviewed models include the Open Archive Information System (OAIS, ISO 14721, ISO 16363) Information Model and the Extended Information Model. Abstract: The judicial system of India is large and complex in size. The amount of legal information is growing at enormous pace, and legal professionals no longer commit such large amount of knowledge to memory. It is cumbersome for the users to locate the valuable legal information related to respective problem. Therefore, a study was conducted to know the librarians’ perspective to develop a model Online Legal Information System (OLIS) to suit the Indian environment. Findings of the study reveal that access instruction on the online resources are not clear, and there is lack of expertise in using legal databases. Majority …of respondents suggested that the following resources and features should be incorporated in the proposed OLIS: Parliament debates, equivalent citation table, commentaries, search through appellant/respondent, Boolean search operators, printing and e-mail facility, help services through e-mail/discussion forum, citation search facility, search results filter, online account service, export of bibliographical record, save/export of retrieved results, save their searches, subject-wise clustering, Web 2.0 tools, online training, link to useful websites in the field of law, and help services. Abstract: Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) has emerged as a burning topic in every field, including library and information science (LIS) domain. Thus, LIS professionals are taking interest in MOOC and involving deeply through various ways. This study aimed to get perceptions of LIS professionals towards MOOC and found that the majority of LIS professionals who participated in this survey, were working as librarians and LIS teachers, they knew about MOOC from one year through e-resources and search engines but they had not participated in any MOOC due to reasons of unfamiliarity with online environment and also because they had not …heard about MOOCs. Besides this, it was also discovered that MOOCs are helpful in terms of learning important topics, but ‘copyright and licensing issues of reading materials’ were identified as the main barrier. LIS professionals preferred to use sole-based learning through MOOCs, which are available free of cost and provide a certificate after accomplishing a course; those who wanted to develop their own MOOCs will use it fully in LIS domain in future. This study may be helpful in knowing diverse perceptions and insights of LIS professionals towards MOOC and in accelerating MOOC movements in LIS domain. Show more

Abstract: Mobile technologies are playing an increasingly important role in the academic lives of research scholars. The use of mobile devices for academic purposes is the main objective of this study. As such, it has become important to find out how mobile devices improve research work of the research scholars and make it easier, more accessible, faster, and time saving in their academic/research work, and how these devices benefit in research performance of the scholars. The study shows that research scholars do use mobile devices for more than communication and mobile learning (m-learning). Majority of respondents fall under the age group …of 26–30 years and are using smartphones. Mobile devices are easier, more accessible, faster, time saving, and can be used for m-learning to improve social interactions. Mobile apps are most frequently used for checking social networking sites (SNSs). Accessing e-newspapers is the most specific use of mobile devices. Majority respondents are using mobile devices for searching Web OPAC. Finding other research scholars and discussing with peers through groups are the main purpose of using academic SNSs. Majority respondents stated that mobile devices are very easy to use, but not significantly used for exchange of ideas with their research supervisors related to research work, which is the principal issue addressed by this study. Mobile devices are least used for identifying potential collaborators. Lack of high speed and authentic e-resources are the biggest barriers that interrupt the access of licensed e-resources subscribed by the study libraries for enhancement of research work. The findings of the study will not only guide research scholars in effective use of mobile devices for academic purpose but also help mobile manufactures, university authorities, librarians, and database vendors in exploring mobile devices adoption and usage among the university students. The papers study—year-wise distribution, authorship pattern of contributions, institution-wise distribution of contributions, country-wise distribution of contributions, and length of articles in each volume. It concludes that most of the articles in this journal are contributed by India and most of the articles are written by one author.
