Biolinguistics, Natural Language Processing, and Digital Libraries

Abstract: Notwithstanding the progress achieved in the conception and the implementation of Digital Libraries, further research is needed to improve their efficiency. In this article, the author identifies shortcomings of current Digital Libraries and present the basic elements of a biolinguistic approach to natural language processing with consequences for development of more efficient information systems in the future.
