A simulation study for a number of simultaneous users of an institutional knowledge repository system

Abstract: Use of an emerging technology for the creation of Institutional Repositories to facilitate knowledge sharing and management among the faculty in academic institutions in India is becoming a necessity even with constraints like infrastructure, manpower and funding. The paper describes a pilot institutional knowledge repository implementation at a Business school in India and presents a simulation conducted to ascertain the number of simultaneous users who can search and view/access the contents of the institutional repository with a minimal server configuration.
