Role of NISCAIR in Professional Development on Digital Libraries

Abstract: Due to the ever-increasing nature of digital information, library and information science (LIS) professionals discover new ways to deal with the digital information resources in libraries. This requires in-depth know-how and expertise in digital library (DL) tools and technologies. In this context, this article explores the role of CSIR-NISCAIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources) in education and training for library and information management with special reference to professional development activities on digital libraries.
