Analysis of WISER Value of National Libraries’ Websites in Asia

Abstract: The present study investigates the web existence of selected Asian national libraries’ websites on the basis of various web indicators, such as number of web pages, number of in-links, rich content files, publications in Google Scholar, and WISER. The tools used in the study for data collection include Google search engine and Check PageRank. Analysis of data depicts that the rank order based on web impact factor is not very reliable as it is biased towards less number of web pages and in-links. An alternative method, WISER, was used for ranking of the selected Asian national libraries’ websites.
