From the Editor

I write this From the Editor in Seattle, Washington, USA, while attending the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s (HFES) 63rd annual international conference. Over 1500 scientists, practitioners and students were in attendance. We chose to celebrate the 30th anniversary of WORK at the conference with a banner, the distribution of thermo lunch bags and a poster in the HFES Fellows poster session.

For our 30th anniversary, WORK has a new engaging website: www.workjournal.org. Please check the website often for the latest news from the WORK community, content updates from WORK and blogs on various aspects of work. Valerie Rice is moderating a blog on mindfulness; Jennifer Long is moderating a blog on vision and Kaitlin Olivieri is moderating a blog on Apps. We welcome your ideas on other topics for blogs; perhaps you’d like to moderate one?

This issue of WORK contains 19 articles on a variety of topics such as: burn out, exercise-based prevention program, a pedometer worksite intervention, self-directing return-to-work, HIV disclosure in the workplace among other topics.

In addition, we have three articles in our monthly section on Ergonomics in a Global World which are presentations from the 2018 International Ergonomics Association (IEA) Congress. These articles are: Ergonomics in the Future World: a perspective from Australia and New Zealand, Professionals working in operating rooms, and The importance of including the position and viewing direction when measuring and assessing the office worker’s lighting conditions.

We hope that you are enjoying the Learn at WORK webinar series. Here is the list of the 2020 Learn at WORK webinars:
