Green self-redox synthesis of Rh-PPy-RGO ternary nanocomposite with highly increased catalytic performances

Abstract: A green self-redox reaction for Rh-polypyrrole (PPy)-RGO has been triggered between Rh metal salts, graphene oxide (GO) and pyrrole without surfactant. The morphology and structure of the novel Rh-PPy-RGO hybrids with 4 nm Rh nanoparticle shows the highly increased catalytic performances for the chemical reduction reaction of p-nitrophenol (4-NP) by ammonia borane (AB, NH3BH3). In addition, a series of noble metal-PPy-RGO hybrids are successfully fabricated, such as Pt-, and Pd-PPy-RGO nanocomposite.
