Abstract: The isosteric phosphonic acid analogue of tyrosine O-phosphate has been prepared in good yield via a three-step sequence. In addition, the nominally isosteric α-hydroxyphosphonic acid analogue of the natural phosphate has also been prepared using a direct oxidation of an intermediate in the aforementioned reaction sequence
