The article titled ‘Fuzzy theory and method for evaluating the importance of college course teaching for future education’ by Yuyang Liu et al. and the article titled ‘Theory and method for evaluating the importance of college course teaching for future education: From virtual reality to metaverse’ by Jiongjiong Fan were simultaneously under review with the journal, under different handling editors. After publication, it was discovered that the two articles exhibit unnaturally similar content. The corresponding authors, as well as all co-authors, were promptly informed of this finding and were invited to provide comments. However, no response was received within the given deadline. Consequently, both the editor-in-chief of the journal and the publisher have reached the decision to retract both papers. The publisher has updated the original online PDF of both articles with the word “RETRACTED” watermarked over every page of the article.
