ExypnoSteganos - A smarter approach to steganography

The article titled “ExypnoSteganos – A Smarter Approach to Steganography” by Gaurav Sarraf et al., originally published in the Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, vol. 41, no. 5, pp. 5595-5606, 2021 (DOI: 10.3233/JIFS-189879), has been retracted.

This retraction is due to the article’s significant reliance on the work of a prior paper published in 2017 by Shumeet Baluja, titled “Hiding Images in Plain Sight: Deep Steganography.” The ideas presented in the JIFS paper, “ExypnoSteganos – A Smarter Approach to Steganography,” are largely the same as those in Baluja’s earlier work, but the JIFS paper fails to acknowledge or cite it.

The article was published as the version of record on 17 November 2021 and retracted in July 2024. The publisher has updated the original online PDF, watermarking the word “RETRACTED” across every page of the article.
