Abstract: In many real life problems that involve group decision-making, fuzzy soft set theory has been considered as an effective mechanism to deal with ambiguity present in the system. In this paper, we introduce a generalized correlation coefficient for the fuzzy sets and then extend it to the fuzzy soft set environment. From the statistical and cognitive view point, the generalized normalized correlation efficiency obtained from generalized correlation efficiency have been utilized as a measure of objective weights of the expertise of decision makers in multiple-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) problem. We also propose a model to handle a MAGDM problem in the fuzzy soft set routine. The model proposed here is implemented for ranking of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in a region on the basis of their cleanliness.
