Abstract: Many scholars have utilized Bodalal’s mathematical model in the development of environmentally friendly building materials to describe the physical diffusion process of volatile organic compounds. In the model, the key to calculating the diffusion coefficient of volatile organic compounds in building materials is the value of the auxiliary parameter α1 and q. This paper improves the method of solving auxiliary parameter values by using extreme value theory. Several other calculation methods are also presented. The process of solving it is explained in detail, and an example is used to verify its accuracy. As these methods are very easy to learn and easy to implement on a computer, they can greatly reduce error rates, which makes them popular and useful.
