Abstract: The aim of this research work is to perform a feasibility analysis to evaluate the introduction of an identification system based on Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFId) in the management of the spare parts warehouse in a process industry that produces petrochemicals products. In order to map the situation of the different activities related to the warehouse management, the Business Process Reengineering (BPR) methodology has been used to have a clear and complete representation of the actual situation “AS IS”, and his critical aspects and the future situation after the reengineer phase “TO BE”. The activities related to the different management options have been analyzed ad compared in terms of cost and saving. Cost for implementing the RFId system has been evaluated.
