Introduction
The 17
From 134 submissions, 39 were selected for oral presentation and 24 as posters. The Program Committee, helped by additional reviewers (about 180 people in total), completed the long and demanding reviewing process.
The authors of the 20 papers considered to be the most innovative and original in terms of computing and information technologies were invited to submit “substantially extended and updated manuscripts with additional original computational materials based on
their most recent research” for possible publication in this issue. Each submitted extended manuscript underwent two to three cycles of the journal’s review process using the journal review form. They received between 3 and 9 reviews. The six manuscripts passing through the journal’s rigorous review process are included in this issue.
ACIVS topics of interest fall within the four following domains: Image and Video Processing, Multidimensional Image Processing, Image and Video Analysis and Image and Video Coding. State-of-the-art techniques from low-level processing to high-level computer vision are thus included. Application domains include multi-camera systems, surveillance applications, biometrics and forensics, and robotics.
