Abstract: The databases and indexes created and maintained by producers and publishers make the job of every reference librarian easier. It is a privilege for us to be able to share our concerns, as well as those of our colleagues, about new products being developed on CD-ROM and other new media. While we benefit greatly from these products, we feel that information publishers do not always get sufficient input from the users. Additional input often could make products much more user-friendly and thus more marketable. Librarians can let producers know what is important to' users out in the market, and producers can let librarians know what is important to them in developing, creating, and marketing the product.
