Changing paradigm in journals based current awareness services in libraries

Abstract: Current awareness services have been an important service provided by libraries and information centres. With the advent of electronic journals and databases, the current awareness services provided by libraries and information centres are undergoing a shift from being a library centred service to a publisher centred service. The article explores this shift highlighting the different kinds of current awareness services and challenges ahead.
