A ONE-SIDED ADVANCED CHESS MATCH

Abstract: In August 2000, an experimental shuffle-chess match at the University of Jena was conducted to investigate the question whether an “Advanced team” consisting of a Grandmaster and a slow computer can outplay an autonomous chess program on a fast computer. The set-up of the match and the game scores have been published in Althöfer (2000). In the present contribution some comments and a proposal for future competitions are given.
