Abstract: The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), composed of 23
economies has designed an e-APEC strategy, through the assistance of the
Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC). This strategy has been endorsed by
conferences of senior level officials that agreed the region must fully embrace
the emerging technologies and integrate them into the region's economic life.
Their goal is to ensure that every APEC economy could be more productive,
better prepared to compete in global markets and provide a higher quality of
life and better living standards for their people. This report reviews
accomplishments and shortcomings of the e-APEC program since it was
initiated.
