Abstract: The British Library funded Brain Train study was conducted by questionnaire in 1991 and collected information from 151 respondents from 49 developing countries. Information was collected on the impact of U.K. educational experiences; future educational requirements in terms of subjects, educational material, etc. Management, information technology, and computer techniques were identified as the most important subject areas, both in terms of impact and need. Requirements specified included consideration of the level of provision; national concerns; economic considerations; delivery methods; and format of material. Discussion points focus on retraining and upgrading of alumni; identification and evaluation of educational material; use of visiting experts; and cooperative activities between individuals and institutions in developed and developing countries.
