Abstract: Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Imaging (MRSI) permits a non-invasive assessment of metabolites in the prostate gland. This article reviews the assessment of choline-containing compounds, citrate, and polyamines as markers for prostate tumor detection and aggressiveness.
