Abstract: The concepts of (∈γ , ∈γ ∨qδ)-fuzzy soft h-ideals (h-bi-ideals, h-quasi-ideals) in Γ-hemirings are introduced. Some new characterization theorems of these kinds of fuzzy soft h-ideals of a Γ-hemiring are also given. Finally, we show that h-hemiregular and h-intra-hemiregular, h-quasi-hemiregular Γ-hemirings can be described by (∈γ , ∈γ ∨qδ)-fuzzy soft h-ideals, (∈γ , ∈γ ∨qδ)-fuzzy soft h-bi-ideals and (∈γ , ∈γ ∨qδ)-fuzzy soft h-quasi-ideals.

Abstract: This paper presents a comparative evaluation of Fuzzy Logic (FLC) Controller and Open loop Controller for a modified LCL Resonant Converter has been simulated and the performance is analyzed. A three element LCL Resonant converter working under load independent operation is presented in this paper. In this work, the applicability of the ARM (Advanced RISC Machine) processor LPC 2148 is to be investigated as the controller for resonant converter. The simulation study indicates the superiority of Fuzzy Logic control over the conventional control method. The evaluation version of MATLAB was used to model the LCL topology for varied loads and …LCL configurations. A LCL Resonant Inverter is proposed for applications in high frequency distributed AC power systems and Resonant Converter is proposed for applications in many space and radar power supplies. The advantages of the LCL topology are low total harmonic distortion (THD) high efficiency and the ability to handle varying loads. Show more

Abstract: Most of the real world decision making problems involve uncertainty, which arise due to incomplete information or linguistic information on data. Stochastic programming and fuzzy programming are two powerful techniques to solve such type of problems. Fuzzy stochastic programming is concerned with optimization problems in which some or all parameters are treated as fuzzy random variables in order to capture randomness and fuzziness under one roof. A method for solving multi-objective fuzzy probabilistic programming problem is proposed in this paper. The uncertain parameters are considered as fuzzy log-normal random variables. Since the existing methods are not enough to solve fuzzy …probabilistic programming problem directly, therefore the mathematical programming model is transformed to an equivalent multi-objective crisp model. Finally, a fuzzy programming technique is used to solve the multi-objective crisp model. The resulting model is then solved by standard non-linear programming methods. In order to illustrate the methodology a numerical example is provided. Show more

Abstract: This paper investigates the importance of risk ranking in mega projects by fuzzy compromise programming methods. To handle the limited resources problem to manage all risks, organizations can assess and prioritize important risks of mega projects. Three well-known decision-making methods, namely TOPSIS, VIKOR, and LINMAP, are employed in a fuzzy environment. One important issue considered in selecting the most appropriate fuzzy decision-making methods is the problem domain and method characteristics. Failing to address these characteristics may result in inappropriate outcomes or decisions. These methods are applied and compared for solving a risk ranking problem in a domain of mega projects. …For the comprehensive study, six new aspects are introduced, including accuracy of methods, computational simplicity, large-scale problems, sensitivity to the parameters, discriminative measure, and inconsistency. Furthermore, a new fuzzy VIKOR method is extended in three different ways resulting in three different approaches to help project managers in handling mega project risks. Finally, the proposed fuzzy compromise approach is demonstrated with a real case study in the power industry. Show more

Abstract: Displays generally located into cars' dashboard are important equipment in terms of driving safety and interior design of cars. In the industry, there are various display designs. Some of them may have positive impacts on customers while some of them may not. The selection of design parameters such as location of displays (behind steering wheel or on the center console), colors (for background and symbols/lettering), types (digital or analog), and shapes (circle, semicircle, or quadrangle) diversify display designs in the industry. In this paper, a design evaluation model (DEM) has been proposed to the relevant literature. The design characteristics of …display and priorities of design parameters of displays are put forward by using the proposed model. DEM is an integrated method including fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy Choquet integral. The fuzzy analytic hierarch process (AHP) is utilized to define the priorities of design parameters of displays by using subjective assessment of customers while fuzzy Choquet integral is used to determine design characteristics of displays by using linguistic evaluations of design team. Abstract: The time uncertainty and the resource conflict are two very important aspects in modeling and analyzing real-time system. The paper defines a kind of Fuzzy Time Petri Nets (FTPN) to simulate the behavior of real-time system limited by time. It studies the conflict with time attribute and space-time collision in real-time system and utilizes time constraints property and the collision possibility to resolve the conflict through knowledge reasoning of fuzzy time interval. Compared with existing methods of conflict analysis and resolution, it takes into account the uncertainty of the time with the system of conflict and contact behavior, which could …be better to simulate and analyze real-time system in reality. Abstract: This paper proposes a sufficient improved optimization algorithm based on gravitational search algorithm (GSA) to handle complex multi-objective (MO) optimization problems. The main idea behind the GSA is based on the Newton's law which has shown great success in recent years. Nevertheless, the existence of some deficiencies such as dependency of the algorithm on its adjusting parameters, stagnation and the probability of trapping in local optima has reduced the searching ability of the GSA. In order to overcome the above deficiencies, this paper suggests a novel mutation technique which is implemented based on four types of solutions. The first type …belongs to the non-dominated solutions. The second type includes those solutions which are dominated by only one solution in the search space. Similarly, the third and the forth types belong to those solutions which are dominated by only three and four solutions respectively. After that, the initial GSA population is constructed by choosing from these four types of solutions. This procedure will let the next movement of the algorithm to reach more optimal solutions through the improvisation stage. The satisfying performance of the proposed algorithm is examined on several well-known benchmarks including both the single-objective and multi-objective optimization problems. Show more

Abstract: In todays advanced world, transportation and the movement of travelers and goods are very importance. In the present decade, with increases in the number of commuters and vehicles and also with the limitations on today's roads connectivity, implementing new technology in the field of traffic intelligence management has become mandatory. This paper attempts to solve the traffic congestion problem by presenting a mathematical model for controlling the time steps of traffic lights on crossings one of the major characteristics of this method is its universality. The proposed model describes a four-way intersection which uses eight traffic lights (the maximum number …possible on such an intersection); these lights can be removed based on the intersection type to create a simpler or special-case model from the original one. Next with respect to the limitations of giving precise and constant values to parameters such as the arrival and departure ratio in the intersection, the maximum and minimum period the light stays green, the congestion on the roads and..., fuzzy models are used because of their tolerance of divergence from the expected constraints and using them our model more closely resembles real life situations and therefore is more practical. Abstract: This paper presents a robust adaptive control method based on neural networks for flexible link manipulators which is a nonlinear non-minimum phase system. The development of the control method comprises of two steps First, an appropriate reference signal is designed such that the internal dynamic subsystem become input-to-state practical stable. Then an output feedback control, which does not rely on the state estimation, is designed such that the output of system asymptotically tracks this reference signal. This controller is comprised of a dynamic linear controller, an adaptive neural network and a discontinuous robustifying term. Stability of the overall system is …proved using the small gain theorem. Abstract: Rough set theory is a powerful tool for dealing with uncertainty, granularity, and incompleteness of knowledge in information systems. In this paper we study covering-based rough fuzzy sets in which a fuzzy set can be approximated by the intersection of some elements in a covering of the universe of discourse. Some properties of the covering-based fuzzy lower and upper approximation operators are examined. We present the conditions under which two coverings generate the same covering-based fuzzy lower and upper approximation. We approximate fuzzy sets based on a binary relation and its properties are introduced. Finally, we establish the equivalency between …rough fuzzy sets generated by a covering and rough fuzzy sets generated by a binary relation. Show more

Abstract: Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a tool of decision making technique which complies with complex decision making in any kind of situations. AHP deals with structuring the hierarchical layer to perform the preference judgement of each criterion and alternatives in multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problems. The sequence of AHP structure unfortunately lack of certainty as the evaluation consists of vagueness. Thus, the theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) is integrated with AHP method to deal with these uncertainty and vagueness of the AHP preference judgement. The aim of this paper is to propose a new intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process …(IF-AHP) method characterised by new preference scale of pair-wise comparison matrix measurement. The new preference scale considers the degree of hesitation of IFS in expressing the conversion of consistency to a triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs). The values of hesitation degree are averaged to test consistency of matrix judgment. The intuitionistic fuzzy weighted averaging (IFWA) is utilized to aggregate the matrix assessment of the decision makers (DMs) into a group opinion. Modified intuitionistic fuzzy entropy is used to obtain the entropy weights of each criterion and alternatives. Three MCDM problems were used to illustrate the proposed method. It is found the ranking of MCDM problems using the proposed method were slightly inconsistent with the original ranking. Show more

Abstract: Multi-Agent systems have proved powerful in various sciences and engineering problems. This paper proposes a novel Multi-Agent Active Noise Control (ANC) formulation via the credit assignment approach. The introduced ANC removes multi-tonal acoustic noises in the environment invoking reinforcement learning techniques. In some multi-agent systems, for the training of all agents, only one reward is available. It is clear that this reward does not belong to one particular agent. The assignment of this reward to the agents is a problem which is known as Multi-Agent Credit Assignment (MCA). In this research, each agent is responsible for reducing the noise power …of one single harmonic, while only the total noise power of the signals is known. Therefore, it is required to assign a power contribution to each single harmonic. To resolve this problem, at first, the Knowledge Evaluation Based Critic Assignment (KEBCA) idea with proper modification is used and then a new method is introduced for this special problem. Simulation results show good improvement in the system performance by switching the single agent into the multi-agent system. Show more

Abstract: Hesitancy is the most common problem in decision making, for which hesitant fuzzy set can be considered as a suitable means allowing several possible degrees for an element to a set. And, the VIKOR method is an effective tool to determine a compromise solution by providing a maximum “group utility” for the “majority” and a minimum “individual regret” for the “opponent” in decision making, particularly in a situation where the decision maker is not able or does not know to express his/her preference. In many practical situations, the inter-dependent or interactive characteristics among criteria and preference of decision makers should …be taken into account, we generally utilize the Choquet integral to depict the correlations and interactions in the decision process. When the Choquet integral is used to solve the correlative decision making problems, we ignore the importance of the ordered position of the element. In fact, each element has the same probability to be drawn and all permutations have the same probability. In this paper, we introduce the Shapley value to solve correlative problem, which is used to be interpreted as a kind of average value of the contribution of an element alone in all coalitions with the same position probability. Firstly, we present some concepts of hesitant fuzzy set and define the Shapley value-based Lp – metric (SLp,μ – metric). With the SLp,μ – metric, an extended VIKOR method is developed to deal with the correlative multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem under hesitant fuzzy environment. To comparative analysis, we also apply the TOPSIS method to solve the problem based on the Shapley value. Finally, a comparative analysis of the two methods is illustrated with a numerical example.
