Abstract: The problem of increasing response burden is a big issue in most of the statistical system all over the world. The statistical system of Slovenia is definitely not an exception especially because Slovenia is a small country with small business population. In the paper, the level of response burden among business population and households is presented. The first, most successful steps were made during years 2004–2005 through cooperation with different agencies and use of new methodologies. As a response to the calculated level of response burden, some possible solutions are presented and some examples of good practices are shown.
