Abstract: Estimation concerning the parameters of the Burr type XII distribution is discussed for both step and constant stress partially accelerated life tests for types I and II censored samples. Maximum likelihood estimators and their asymptotic variances are developed for the parameters of the distribution as well as for the acceleration factor. Illustrative examples are provided. A simulation study is presented to investigate the efficiency of maximum likelihood estimates under the different sampling schemes for various sizes of the sample.
