Abstract: This study was investigated the effect of Saudi Arabia propolis extract against staphylococcus aureus infection. Forty03 adult female Wister rats (150–170 gm) were divided into a control group, propolis (500 mg/Kgm b.w.) treated group. Infection with staphylococcus aureus induced significant elevation in WBCs, significant reduction in RBCs, Hb and PCV and anemia markers (MCV, MCH and MCHC) at P < 0.05. Sever injury in liver tissues expressed by elevation in serum biomarkers ALT, AST and ALP as well as elevation in inflammation and angiogenesis markers TNF- α and VEGF. An elevation in oxidative stress biomarker MDA concomitant with reduction in SOD and GPx enzymes in liver tissues induced DNA damage through significant elevation of commet assay markers. Changes in liver cell architecture was recorded in a histopathological study. On the other hand, treatment with aqueous extract with propolis improved the previous alterations to be more or less near to control. Propolis has an immediate antioxidant and antimicrobial effects but requires more time for tissue regeneration.
