Abstract: Diffraction-based stress measurement techniques have been widely applied to the study of two-phase and composite materials [1,2]. Diffraction is particularly useful and that allows the strains (and hence stresses) to be measured independently in both phases of the material, which can give useful information on mechanical behavior. We analyze a bling in titanium reinforced by fibers of SiC: strains are measured, stresses of each phase and macrostresses are quantified.
