Abstract: A review is presented about the use of scintillating glass optical fibers for neutron imaging. The fibers are assembled in bundles to form plates coupled to integrating image detectors (CCDs). The scintillating glass core of the single fibers, which are oriented in the direction of impinging neutrons, is sensitive to neutrons. Scintillating glasses containing lithium and doped with terbium or europium are the most convenient for detection of slow neutrons. Experimental results are reported.
