Abstract: With the continuous popularization and application of computer network technology in many fields, it is imperative for the teaching reform of physical education with the main features of the multimedia digital platform. In view of the development of modern social network and the rich network resources, the digital teaching platform was taken. Platform construction was divided into several steps, including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Students watch sports video, sports teaching animation and so on through the platform, so that they could understand and learn the sports knowledge better. Using literature, experiment and other research methods, the teaching effects of the multimedia digital platform teaching method and the traditional teaching method were analyzed. The results show that the digital sports teaching platform can fully mobilize students’ initiative. Using the flexibility and the popularity of networks, it makes more students be exposed to sports and enable them to acquire more sports skills, which is an effective way to fully mobilize students’ subjective initiative and improve the teaching effect. Multimedia digital platform provides a new direction for the development of physical education in colleges and universities. It also promotes the development of physical education and the spread of sports skills.
