Abstract: A robust device and controller is remarkably imperative to be engaged in the affected power system caused by serious disturbance in order to suppress the power system oscillations. Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) are such the devices which can play a key role to improve the overall dynamic performance of power system. Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) is a kind of series FACTS device which can rapidly change its apparent reactance in accordance with the power system requirements. On the other hand, a supplementary controller must be recruited to stabilize and suppress the serious power system oscillation over a wide range of loading conditions. In this regard, accomplished endeavors are led to suggest a robust Power Oscillation Damper (POD) based on Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) for TCSC. Meanwhile, Multi Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) owing to high performance in solving non-linear objectives has been applied to unravel the optimization problem and optimal tune the suggested apparatus so-called TCSC-ANFIS-POD. The potency of this controller has been deeply inspected and compared with Conventional POD (CPOD) by considering three loading conditions. Eventually, the acquired results corroborate the robustness of TCSC-ANFIS-POD as compared with TCSC-CPOD in order to enhance the power system dynamic stability.
