Abstract: This paper researches the circumferential MEFP of the forming speed, direction and forming dense with AUTODYN finite element software for different materials, different thickness of the shell. Also, it provides the calculation and analysis of the simulation results with the theory of detonation physics. The findings indicate that the circumferential MEFP speed can increase along with the increase of both the shell material density and the shell thickness. The higher density can effectively reduce the scattering angle of the EFP along the axis direction and make the EFP shape denser. Taking into account the fact that the shell should not be too thick, the ratio of the thickness of the shell and the liner should be between 1∼2.
